The positions that we are currently recruiting for are entry level production positions.  This does not mean Magna prefers we assign people at the entry level point in their career.  Magna has a great appreciation for previous work experience in a manufacturing environment and has a great track record for promoting from within.  In particular, Magna has great interest in working with people that have years of production experience, especially in a team lead or production supervisor capacity, that will be interested in job advancement.

All positions will begin as temporary work assignments through KEY Personnel.  Positions will be available on all three shifts however the hire-in opportunities are most likely to be on second and third shift.  Most candidates will be initially assigned to operator positions performing production work to assemble and fabricate the mirrors that Magna produces.  Magna relies on everyone to be responsible for the quality of their own work so inspection skills are required.  Not all assembly operations involve working with heavy parts or materials but all assigned employees should be comfortable with and expect to be asked to routinely work with heavy parts or materials in addition to possibly performing material handling duties.  Magna believes in cross-training and all assigned employees should expect to move among different positions in the production area.

Magna is experiencing growth and anticipates having hire-in positions open this year and the very best temporary employees may be considered for these positions when they become available.  There is not an established time frame for the transition from temporary to hire-in employment.

KEY will be accepting and screening applications for assignment to the temporary positions at Magna over the next several weeks.  Your first step is to complete the KEY online application and your second step is to log back in to our system after you complete the application and apply directly to the open Magna jobs on the site.  KEY will keep you updated on the status of your application as the process moves forward.  We anticipate receiving many applications and we will rely heavily on email for our communication with you as making contact by phone to every candidate will not be possible.  If you do not have an email address, we suggest you obtain a free email address from an online service like Yahoo! or Google.

In order to identify the very best candidates to assign to Magna, KEY will use these criteria to rank each application:

- High School diploma with additional points assigned for technical or other education past high school, additional points for grade point average "B" or better.  You may fax your diploma and grades transcript to us directly at 888-600-4165.
- Previous manufacturing experience with not more than three jobs in the past ten years and additional points assigned for jobs lasting more than five years
- Additional points for experience with quality programs such as Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, total quality management, in previous jobs
- Additional points for previous experience in a technologically advanced manufacturing environment, especially automotive
- Additional points for written letters of reference from former direct supervisors that include favorable review of skills, attitude, quality and attendance.  You may fax these directly to us at 888-600-4165.

KEY Personnel is committed to helping Magna expanding their team of highly skilled production staff by considering only the "best of the best" for assignment to Magna.  Once the initial ranking is completed, we will contact the top identified candidates to complete an individual interview.  The top candidates after the interview will then be submitted for background checking and reference checking.  The top candidates after these steps will be considered for assignment to Magna and their application and other materials may be reviewed by staff at Magna prior to KEY making a final selection decision for the temporary assignments.
